I love that my kids have access to e-mail, but that access is very limited. I started a family blog in May and they have not been able to access it as of yet.
I decided that I needed to come up with another way to communicate with the kids besides e-mail so I send regular individual letters monthly. I try and keep these letters about me and what I am doing that month. If it is a month with a holiday then I will tell them how I'm celebrating. Last November I wrote a letter telling them why I was thankful for each one of them. I always let them know how much I miss them, and love them. I usually include a small gift. I always have my eye open for pencils, little books, stickers, jewlery,or toys that will fit in a small envelope.
I have found that it is hard for them to write to me, so to solve that problem I send them fill in the blank letters that they can return to me. I get so excited when I get them back.

grandchildren just keep on loving---once when
first read, then every time they're read again."
