Safe Trip

Erik, Michele and the kids have arrived safely back on Tanna Island(see link on the right)
They took a small plane between the island of Efate and Tanna. The plane only has 8 seats and is very noisy due to the propellers. Little Joel cried the whole way back (about 45mins.) while shouting ,"stop the plane."He was not happy with the noise. I can't say I blame him. When I took that particular plane I kept the shouting inside, while begging God the whole way for safety.

They will be translating the book of James and Galatians at the same time. Pray for this work. This will be the first time they have worked on two books at once.

They were due for forlough next summer, but will be staying for one more year to get more translation done.
I hope to go next summer to visit. I would like to take Sage this time.

Keeping in Touch

I found something very fun to send the kids.
Puzzle postcards, I wrote my message on the back and then put them in the envelope in pieces so that they can put them together...fun.
I'm thinking that I could make my own. Draw my own picture and the make a puzzle out of it. Something to think about.
I sent the postcards all together in one large envelope so that they get there all at once. Don't want one of the little ones disappointed if they don't get one when the others do.

A Special Day

My grandchildren, David age 7 and Sierra age 9 were baptised last weekend. What a blessing. I would have loved to have been there.

"Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in the newness of life." Romans 6:4

Where in the World is Vanuatu?

In the village on Tanna Island

Yassur volcano on Tanna Island

The republic of Vanuatu is in the South Pacific. Vanuatu's closest neighbors are New Caledonia in the South, Fiji Islands to the east, Solomon Islands to the North, and Australia to the West. Vanuatu includes 13 larger islands with 70 smaller islands . These were originally called the New Hebrides, and they were administered jointly by Britain and France until they were given their independence in the 1980's.

Most of the islands are mountainous and volcanic in origin with 3 still active volcano's.
Weather is tropical--warm and humid with a rainy season.
