Holy Is He...Ps.99

I had an interesting experience Sunday afternoon I attended the Colorado Symphony, and we heard Leonard Bernstein , Symphony No.1, "Jeremiah". This symphony is based on scripture from the book of Lamentations. The movement aims to parallel in feeling the intensity of the prophet Jeremiah's pleas to Israel.
I was moved to tears because in the music I was able to hear and feel the intensity of the prophets warnings and his lamenting over the nations destruction brought on by their sin. It was amazing.

Lamentations is a book of wailing's that are read annually by the Jews as a reminder of the fall of Jerusalem and the destruction of the temple. They serve as a reminder of an avoidable tragedy caused by sin.

Lamentations1:1-3
How lonely sits the city
that was full of people!
She has become like a widow
who was once great among the national
She who was a princess among the provinces
Has become a forced laborer!
Judah has gone into exile under affliction
and under harsh servitude
she dwells among the nations, but she has found no rest;
all her pursuers have overtaken her in the midst of distress.

Lamentations 1:8
Jerusalem sinned greatly
Therefore she has become an unclean thing.
All who honored her despise her
Because they have seen her nakedness;
even she herself groans and turns away.

I love God's Word !
