Three Mothers

Consider two mothers who have in the last 24 hours had to turn their children over to God and trust Him and Him alone for their well being.
Both mom's are experiencing very different situations but I would imagine very similar feelings.
I have been deeply moved today to pray for them and their children.

One mom is a POM. I have come to know Denise through my blog and hers. http://grandmothersheartbeat.blogspot.com/ Her encouraging loving spirit has blessed me many times over. I have never met her in person, but we are connected by the similar experience of being a POM and because we serve and trust the same Lord.
Denise's daughter is a missionary in Haiti. The earthquake that occurred last night has devastated that country and those who live there are suffering greatly. There is nothing that Denise can do at this point to physically help or protect her missionary family.

The other mom is my sister. I found myself in a hospital ER room last night as she held her son who had been found in a restaurant bathroom overdosed. Thankfully he survived and Lord willing he will be entering a treatment center within the next few days, but it was heart wrenching to watch her grief and his sorrow as she held his hand and wept.

How do we as mom's handle such difficult situations with our children. I think that the answer can be seen in the reaction of the mother in Matthew 15:22 who frantically approached Jesus,
"Have mercy on me Lord: my daughter is cruelly demon possessed."
She got Jesus attention and we see that eventually after pleading with Jesus in verse 25,
"Lord Help Me!"
Jesus responded by healing her daughter because the woman's faith was great. verse28.
In the same way,
Our only choice is to reach out to Christ in great faith, "Lord Help Me" trusting Him to respond and care for our children and to meet their needs.

Jesus cares about our anguish and concern for our children, after all He is the one who made them. Psalm 139: 13, "for you formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb." Our children belonged to Him before they ever belonged to us. We shouldn't take them back but continue to give them over to a loving God.
Remembering that what is impossible for man is possible for God. He can do all things over and beyond what we can imagine.

As parents we can pray...we need to be consistent and stubborn intercessors. Prayer is both a privilege and an obligation.

Would you pray? Pray for these two women and their children .
Then together we will Praise God and Give Him the Glory as we see His answers , healing, and protection in these two situations.
